“Teachers’ Day” is being celebrated on the 6th of October, as the day dedicated internationally for the appreciation of services rendered by the teachers for molding the lives of children.

Taking this theme into consideration the '92 Batch of Students of Holy Cross College – Kalutara decided to add more meaningful flavour to this spirit of celebration by organizing a day of appreciation for their past teachers, who had contributed in innumerable ways, to mould them into men, what they are today.

Thus, 12th of October 2008, became the day which created a new milestone in the history of Holy Cross College – Kalutara, where a felicitation programme, named Eduru Pudasara was organised by the '92 batch, for the teachers who had imparted their precious wealth of knowledge on them from the year 1979 to 1992.

Under the able leadership of Dr. Chandana Pradeep Fernando, the President of the Past Pupils' Association – 92' Batch, the initial concept gradually fell into place within a short space of time This gathered momentum as the Committee Members collected the information on the whereabouts of the teachers and most importantly the resources for the big event.

Seventy invitations were hand delivered and out of these ten are still serving the school and some teachers had to be contacted from very far off places like Trincomalee.  The invitation was extended to the next of kin of the teachers who had departed.

Due to the magnanimous generosity extended by our members, this event was an unqualified success. The venue for the occasion was Garden Beach Hotel at Kalutara North.  The Programme commenced in the morning and wined up after the buffet lunch.  Mr. Royston Peiris, an old boy of the college compeered the days event beautifully.

As a token of appreciation an engraved Plaques were presented to teachers who were present by our Chief Guest, Rev. Bro. Clinton Perera.  The present Director of the College, Rev. Bro., Ranjith Perera graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
